Athletes who have completed a base block are ready to layer in explosive strength work. This block introduces plyometrics, med ball circuits, and speed-strength drills alongside continued base development.

A focused four-week bridge block that sharpens athletes for the spring outdoor season. Emphasis on speed mechanics, block starts, and event-specific preparation.

The primary competitive season. Athletes train for TAAF, UIL, and AAU meets. Training shifts toward speed, power expression, and race execution. This is where the work pays off.

The championship block. Athletes peak for TAAF Regional and State Championships, AAU Nationals, and USATF Junior Olympics. High-intensity, competition-focused training.

Late Summer Recovery

A deliberate deload and reset block after the championship season. Athletes recover, address weaknesses, and rebuild the aerobic base before the fall cycle begins again.

Winter Season

Compete This Winter

Lone Star TFC athletes take their Speed & Strength Training to the track. The Indoor Season add-on bridges your strength block into competitive performance — event-specific prep, meet experience, and team culture.

The Indoor Season is an add-on to any active training block. Athletes must be enrolled in the Speed & Performance Programs to participate.

Sprints & Relays
60 Meter Dash
Pure acceleration — the premier indoor sprint event. Athletes with strong 10-yard dash scores thrive here.
200 Meter Dash
Speed endurance around the curve. Builds on the acceleration work from the fall block.
400 Meter Dash
The ultimate test of speed endurance. Requires a strong aerobic base alongside sprint mechanics.
4×200 Relay
Team event. Baton exchange technique is practiced throughout the season.
4×400 Relay
Team event. Anchor legs are assigned based on 400m performance.
Jumps & Throws
Long Jump
Horizontal power off the board. Athletes with strong broad jump scores are natural candidates.
Triple Jump
Advanced event for athletes with strong jumping mechanics and body control.
High Jump
Vertical power and approach mechanics. Selected athletes only.
Shot Put
Rotational power and hip drive. Athletes from the Explosive track are prioritized for throws.
Weight Throw
Indoor-specific throwing event. Technique-heavy — coached individually.
Prerequisite — The Indoor Season is an add-on to any active training block. Athletes must be enrolled in the Speed & Performance Programs to participate.

Lone Star Showcase

Twice a year, athletes take the stage. The Lone Star Showcase is our signature event — a high-energy competition that brings together performance, preparation, and opportunity.
